last half of the 19th century, with 23 1/2in. slightly curved blade (some marks and tarnish), visible hamon, iron 'cartwheel' tsuba, cloth-bound sharkskin grip with gilded floral menuki, military style leather-covered saya and one suspension ring
Other Notes: This sword has an old label attached reading 'WWII captured Japanese sword surrendered to dist. officer in Burma Mr Marsh (of Worthing) in October 1945
