28in. nitro reproved barrels, ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, No.1 with 'Royal Brevis', tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both (No.1) and 1/4 and 1/2 choke (No.2), wall thicknesses well below recommended minimum, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguards, best bold Royal scroll engraving, the undersides with elaborate cartouches engraved 'ROYAL SELF-OPENER PATENT 1922', brushed finish overall, 14 3/4in. figured stocks (chequering worn) including 5/8in. rubber recoil pads, No.1 including 3/4in. wooden extension and with light damage to right edge of fore-end wood, weight 5lb. 15oz.
Provenance: The makers have confirmed that gun No. 33146 was completed in 1938 for a "Straker-Smith"
