A SCARCE 32-BORE PERCUSSION OVER-UNDER RIFLE WITH PAKTONG MOUNTS, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with re-browned octagonal damascus 30in. barrels rifled in four grooves, possibly for 'Jacob's' bullet, the top-flat re-signed 'W.A. BECKWITH, 58 SKINNER STREET, SNOW HILL, LONDON', moulded breech-block, border and scroll engraved back-action locks signed 'W.A. BECKWITH' and fitted with asymmetric hammers, chequered walnut butt-stock (repaired at head), inlet paktong cap-box with iron lid to right side of butt, paktong heel-plate and trigger-guard tang and bow (engraving detail rubbed) and replacement wood ramrod with brass tip
