circa 1840, with round iron turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels, engraved bands at the muzzles, rounded borderline and scroll engraved frames with central dolphin-headed hammers and automatic concealed triggers, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butts with white-metal lionshead mask butt-caps and initialled oval escutcheons to wrists, complete with a period mahogany brass cornered case adapted for these pistols and containing a cap-tin and miniature flask
