for 1864, with 8in. round, sighted barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA' (rubbed), plain stepped cylinder scrubbed of roll engraved scene, open iron four-screw frame marked 'CSA' and 'COLT'S PATENT', provision for shoulder-stock, brass trigger guard stamped '.44 CAL', iron backstrap, walnut grip with martial cartouche, refinished and some numbers erased or partially erased

Other Notes: This is possibly a battlefield pick-up re-purposed by the Confederate Army. It would appear the barrel, whilst period, is not original to this revolver
