circa 1865, with probable replacement round 8in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight to the flat sighting plane, border engraved top-strap with standing notch rear-sight and signed 'HILL'S PATENT', borderline and scroll engraved solid frame (traces of colour), plain cylinder (stripped of finish), spurred hammer and guarded trigger, chequered walnut grips and patent ejector mounted to right side of frame
