for 1882, with tapering nickel-plated barrel etched with the calibre on the left hand side and signed by the maker on two lines on the top, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, fluted cylinder, solid frame with three lines of patents, double action mechanism and chequered hard rubber birdshead grips, retaining much original plated finish
