A 12-BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 12822, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1963), rib engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. EDINBURGH', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, unsigned scroll-back treble grip action incorporating unusual front lump barrel cocking action, possibly variant of Lake 1884 patent (hooked through front lump engaging two projections into the action slot being raised on opening to cock the hammers), automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, bold border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of finish, triggerguard tang with later stamped serial number, 15 1/8in. figured stock (minor split at hand) including 1 5/8in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 12oz.
