circa 1878, re-numbered by the Japanese with 7in. blued round barrel, raised sighting rib dated by patents to '1877', blade fore-sight, adjustable notch rear-sight on the opening catch, blued fluted cylinder, blued frame marked with Japanese characters on the left side of ejector housing, the butt fitted with non factory swivel, chequered walnut grips without medallions, much original blued finish remaining with traces of colour hardening to ancillaries
