English circa 1740, with 3 1/2in. iron turn-off cannon barrel (frozen) side-mounted to the straight 27 1/2in. centrally fullered single-edged blade, the pistol with false rifling at the muzzle to accept a key (absent), iron 'D' shaped knuckle-bow with central turned ballester, moulded iron turned down shell guard extending over the pistol action, moulded horn grip tapering towards the blade, exposed cock (top-jaw a crude replacement) and rearward curving trigger and repaired pommel-cap, the whole lightly cleaned with shallow pitting to blade
