circa 1880, with 33in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of breech signed 'ALEX MARTIN, GLASGOW', slab-sided receiver with dropping feed-ramp and tear-drop cocking indicator, walnut butt-stock, short under-lever, the front edge of action additionally numbered '3895', full-length walnut fore-end, two iron barrel-bands, the front fitted with a bayonet lug and iron under-barrel ramrod, strong traces of blued finish remaining
