circa 1865, with Birmingham proved round 5 1/4in. blued barrel, triangular fore-sight, sighting notch to the hammer nose, octagonal breech section, plunge ejector on crane, fully fluted blued cylinder, borderline engraved open iron frame, double-action mechanism, recoil shield with loading gate, chequered walnut bag-shaped grip with lanyard ring at heel and guarded trigger with frame-mounted swinging trigger safe, strong traces of original blued finish remaining
