with 3in. octagonal barrel and turned muzzle, the top-flat signed 'E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION' over 'RIDER'S PAT. AUG 15th 1871', with five shot tubular magazine located under the barrel, with rare plain unengraved receiver, twin cocking and loading hammers, smooth wood birdshead slab-sided grips, the whole retaining strong amounts of original plated finish
