A 10-BORE DOUBLE BARRELLED PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY I. B. BOREHAM, CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number, with 30 in. rebrowned skelp twist barrels with concave top rib, the breeches fitted with platinum plugs and modern replacement nipples, border decorated side action locks the right lock engraved with a country scene featuring partridges and the left lock the scene features a setter and a woodcock, both also engraved with some foliate scroll work, the hammers engraved to match, the left hammer an old replacement, half stocked in figured walnut with chequered wrist and plain forend, fitted with foliate engraved iron mounts, complete with original brass mounted ebonised loading rod, repaired crack to stock below locks.

Provenance: The makers John Bales Boreham was established at both Beccles Suffolk and Great Yarmouth between 1843 and 1865.
