circa 1934, 27in. nitro barrels engraved 'BOSS & CO. 41 ALBEMARLE STREET, PICCADILLY, LONDON. W.', no top rib, short sight rib with fine acanthus scroll detailing and gold-inlaid '1' and with top extension, side-ribs, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and imp. cyl. choke, small dent to under barrel, Boss 1909 patent action incorporating J. Robertson (Boss & Co.) patents 3307 (hinged stud piece drop down action) and 3308 (ejector) of 10th February 1909, hold-open toplever gold-inlaid '1', carved fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, Boss improved patent single trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets and with elaborate cartouches with patent details to the action bar and fore-end iron, retaining traces of likely original colour-hardening, 14 7/8in. figured stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, weight 6lb. 6oz.
