A UNIT-MARKED PATTERN 1855 SOCKET BAYONET FOR THE ROYAL ENGINEERS LANCASTER CARBINE, circa 1860s, with 24 in. steel blade, ricasso with Weyersberg Kirschbaum of Solingen knight trade-mark to one side and Broad Arrow, 'WD' and inspection mark over, black pressed leather grips, brass cross-guard and pommel, pommel with working spring and marked '22 Co . R . E . 80', some surface rust to blade, no scabbard, 29 in. overall
