MILITARY STEREO 6X30 BINOCULARS, sn. 21955, dated 1915, with brass frame and Bakelite eye-cups, marked 'MILITARY STEREO / 6 X 30' on left prism plate and 'BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. / ROCHESTER. N. Y. USA.' on right prism plate, and with two 'Broad Arrows' plus '81 / No. 21955 / 1915' to front, in their leather carry case, the lid embossed 'G. SPECIAL.' and 'EJB'
Provenance:
The above binoculars belonged to S. Broadrib who had emigrated to Canada in the early1900's and came back to fight in WW1. In late 1917 while on leave, went to his sister G. Broadrib and left all his belongings with her as he did not think he would survive the War and he was right, killed in action early 1918.
