circa 1876 and remodelled from a French Gras M80 circa 1888, with 32 1/2in. barrel signed near breech 'KYNOCH GUN FACTORY ASTON' with calibre designation 'MUSKET 43-77-380' below, block and blade fore-sight, adjustable ladder rear-sight, action body marked 'KYNOCH'S-PATENT', serial numbered bolt with straight handle, walnut three-quarter stock, iron furniture and provision for clearing rod (absent)
