A 11.3x59R TURKISH PEABODY MARTINI MODEL 1872 TYPE B, SECOND CONTRACT, serial number 223794,
circa 1874, with 32 1/2in. sighted barrel, dropping block lever action, left side of receiver marked 'PEABODY & MARTINI PATENTS / MAN'F'D BY / PROVIDENCE TOOL CO. / PROV. R.I. U.S.A.' with a Turkish serial number and Turkish crest opposite, plus a crudely applied 'FF8460', chequered butt-cap, together with two (out of the three) sling swivels, replacement cleaning rod, stock with crude chequering on fore-end and wrist applied to the left side only, rear sling swivel a replacement with round loop, replacement rear sight and stock with some shrinkage, denting and small losses, 49 1/2in. overall length
