circa 1855, with well rebrowned octagonal 30in. multi-groove barrel signed on the top-flat 'JOSEPH BOURNE & SON, LONDON' (possibly refreshed), dove-tailed fore-sight, triple leaf flush-folding express rear-sight, squared patent breech with twin platinum lines, engraved bar-action lock signed 'BOURNE & SON' (also possibly refreshed), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture, eyelets for a sling and brass mounted ebony ramrod
