A 12mm PINFIRE ARENDT PATENT REVOLVER, serial no. 3783,
circa 1870, with octagonal 6in. in the white barrel, applied squared two-piece sighting rib, the front section with dove-tailed fore-sight, the rear wishbone section forming the top-strap and fitted with a standing notch rear-sight, the sections mortised and pinned at joint, the breech end marked on the right side 'ARENDT BREVETE' together with the serial number, ejector rod stored under the barrel, plain frame and external ratchet locking cylinder, full pin guard to the recoil shield, double action mechanism with guarded trigger and smooth bag-shaped walnut grips with lanyard ring at heel, light staining to metal
