AN 8 BORE PERCUSSION CONVERTED FROM FLINTLOCK SINGLE BARREL FOWLING PIECE, no visible serial number, circa 1800, with 43in. two stage octagonal to round barrel, faintly stamped 'MALDON' at breech, with drum and nipple conversion from flint to percussion, flat style lock with stepped tail, faintly inscribed 'GRIFFIN' ? to centre, walnut half stocked with hatched decoration to wrist, fitted with engraved brass mounts, the trigger-guard with acorn finial, replacement rod, the stock with some wear and damage. the barrel speckled overall, with erosion around drum.
