A SCARCE .450 (3 1/4IN.) BLACK POWDER EXPRESS RIGBY AND BANKS 1882 PATENT FALLING-BLOCK SPORTING RIFLE, serial no.16317,
circa 1891, 34 1/4in. unsigned replacement black powder proofed barrel, missing fore and rear sights, unsigned J. Rigby and L.F. Banks sliding breech block action, patent no. 1361 of 21st March 1882 with sidelever, bold acanthus scroll engraving with line bordering and the right side with 'RIGBY & BANKS PATENT', some renewed finish, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, the hand with a mount for a folding sight, the underside with filled mount holes, the fore-end with sling swivel (repaired cracks around thread), one retaining screw stripped, weight 8lb. 15oz.
