circa 1860, with octagonal 30in. barrel decorated with engravings of fish and clouds, plain muzzle, applied brass fore-sight and standing iron rear-sight block, side mounted pan (cover absent), plain long back-action brass lockplate with external serpentine (securing pins lacking), shaped fruitwood full-stock partially modified for this barrel from another, with brass carved escutcheons around the apertures for holding the match and pins (one escutcheon absent), exposed trigger and provision for ramrod (missing)
