for 1882, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (in 1960), the rib engraved 'NEW BARRELS BY C.H. SMITH & SONS. BIRMINGHAM', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and full choke, treble-grip action with hidden third bite, flats marked as No.2, carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks with dolphin hammers, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, 14 1/4in. boldly-figured stock (slightly cast on for the left shoulder) with tapped triggerguard tang and including 5/8in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 11oz.
