sterling silver, hallmarked Birmingham 1902, the front bearing 1899-1900 date, the reverse marked in raised letters 'MAYOR'S SIEGE MEDAL 1900', correct original ribbon and suspender
Provenance: Awarded by the Mayor and Council of Kimberley for the defence of the mining town during the Boer War. Two were known to have been struck in gold, the remaining 5000 were all silver
