AN OUTSTANDING CASED 50-BORE PERCUSSION FOUR-SHOT PEPPERBOX REVOLVER SIGNED NEEDLER, HULL, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with best London blued 3in. barrel-group, engraved band at muzzles, London proofs, colour-hardened border and scroll engraved boxlock action with radiused edges and signed 'NEEDLER' within a scrolled bordered oval panel on the left and 'HULL' within a similar panel on the right, central bar-hammer with engraved top face, blued sliding safe surrounding the hammer (locking tab lacking), locking position on the barrels for travelling, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped grip with rectangular escutcheon to wrist, guarded trigger, retaining virtually full original finish throughout and appearing very little used, in its mahogany storage case lined and compartmented in green baize and complete with its original powder flask, William Davies scissors mould with rammer handle, nipple-key, further brass-tipped mahogany loading rod, oil bottle, bone nipple-pot, cap-tins and case key
