A RARE FRENCH FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR CHASSEPOT CARTRIDGE BOX BY ALEXIS GUDILLOT OF PARIS,
circa 1870, black leather with heavy brass hinged belt swivels, complete with 'flaming grenade' badge and all internal compartments, some crazing to the leather and wear to the back right where the lid hinge has worn and the stitching failed, box without swivels 8in. x 5in. x 2 3/4in.
