Dickson's completed their last firearm for Gordon, a percussion rifle, in February 1904. Like so many of the firearms ordered by Gordon, this gun remains in excellent condition.

Detailed provenance on Gordon may be found in this catalogue's 'In the Gunroom'.

Other Notes: Mr Donald Dallas, author, has kindly confirmed that the gun was delivered on the 1st September 1884 paired together with a 10-bore gun of similar specification. Both guns were subsequently sold in the auction of Charles Gordon's property in 1908 for 16 shillings (80 pence!)
