A .45 (ACP) SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL, MODEL '1911A1 COMMERCIAL', serial no. C189036,
for 1938, with 5in. barrel, blued slide with crescent fore-sight and dove-tailed notch rear-sight, the left hand side of slide stamped with makers address and patent dates to 1913, the right hand side marked 'COLT' together with the calibre and trademark (small loss to blue and extra vertical finger-grooves filed into left hand side of slide), blued frame marked 'GOVERNMENT MODEL', chequered walnut grips and correct magazine with lanyard ring, the whole retaining virtually all its original finish except where noted
