* AN UNUSUAL APPROXIMATELY 40-BORE LONG-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS WITH GOLD KOFTGARI-WORK, FARSI-SIGNED, no visible serial number,
Indian, circa 1800, with rose-damascus 30 3/4in. iron barrel, provision for fore-sight (missing), the muzzle with a triangular panel of gold koftgari arabesques joined to two smaller panels of similar work leading to a gold line along the carved top-rib and terminating in a larger panel of gold koftgari-work at the breech, farsi signature and possible date to left hand side of barrel, large raised squared rear-sight and solid top-tang also covered in gold koftgari work, slightly curved and radiused lockplate engraved with a crude imitation of the East India Company trademark lion with a false signature beneath, floral engraving to hammer and tail (frizzen-spring screw replaced), walnut full-stock with chequered wrist, iron heel-plate and trigger-guard bow, pineapple finial, iron ramrod pipes (one replaced, iron swivels and ramrod, silver fore-end cap, brass escutcheons behind top-tang and for side-nails (some staining to iron-work and age-splitting to wood)
