26 1/2in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (shortened), rib engraved 'STEPHEN GRANT. 67A. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, carved serpentine fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original finish, 13 3/4in. figured stock including 1/2in. buttplate, weight 5lb. 14oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed as no.2 of a pair with 30in. barrels in 1887 for H.R. Baird, Esq.
