28in. nitro reproved barrels, smoothbored to 28-bore from a rifle calibre, rib with open sights removed and with dovetailed insert, engraved 'J. PURDEY 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, side-clips, rebounding island locks with front-bolted dolphin hammers, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock (minor crack at hand) with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap and chequered steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 3oz.
