WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fences carved with leaf motifs on a matted background, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening, 13 1/2in. well-figured stocks including 3/4in. rubber recoil pads, (No.1 a replacement), weight 6lb. 4oz., in their brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed April 1929 as best quality guns with 26in. barrels for J.E. Mitchell, Esq. and later J.B. Boynton, Esq.
