circa 1860, with blued round 5 1/2in. barrel, bead fore-sight, octagonal breech tapering back towards the throat, plain stepped cylinder, blued open frame, lift-up load gate, colour-hardened spurless hammer, smooth flared walnut grip, iron butt-cap with lanyard ring, scrolled trigger-guard and centrally mounted ejector-rod, the whole with much, probably original, finish
