frame manufactured pre 1899 but assembled later, with blued 5in. barrel, raised sighting rib tamped with makers details and patent dates to 1880, crescent fore-sight, notch rear-sight, blued fluted 1 9/16in . cylinder, blued break-open frame, colour hardened trigger and hammer, chequered 'S&W' trademarked hard-rubber grips, strong amount of original finish remaining
