dated for 1871, with 37in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, flip-open breech-block marked 'SNIDER'S PATENT', plain lock signed 'TOWER' together with the date and a crown device to tail, walnut three-quarter stock with brass furniture, three iron barrel-bands and provision for clearing rod (missing), traces of finish throughout
