circa 1855, with 28in. laminated iron barrels, the flat top-rib signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 170 NEW BOND ST. LONDON' (faint), platinum line and plugs at breech, scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved locks and hammers, the locks signed in script 'WESTLEY RICHARDS', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, large iron patch-box fitted to right side of butt, iron furniture including trigger-guard tang modified by the addition of a finger spur and replacement nickel-tipped wood ramrod, some frosting to exposed iron surfaces
