for 1962, 26in. nitro chopperlump barrels with raised narrow matt ribs, the tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', self-opening actions with removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, blued cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. well-figured stocks including 7/8in. rubber recoil pads, slight knock to triggerguard (No.1), weight 6lb. 12oz., in a Brady brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in July 1962, with standard fine engraving and 26in. barrels with narrow matted ribs.
