A CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE FLINTLOCK SAW-HANDLED DUELLING PISTOLS SIGNED RUMFORD, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1815, with rebrowned octagonal 9in. barrels inlet in gilt on the top-flats 'LONDON', knock-off breech-blocks inlet with gold and platinum lines, white metal fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the engraved top-tangs, bevel-edged border engraved step-tailed locks signed 'RUMFORD' below the rainproof pans, swan-necked cocks and roller frizzen springs, walnut half-stocks with chequered saw-handled grips (one cracked through and repaired), swollen flat bottomed pommels with inlet and engraved white metal plates, semi square-backed trigger guard bows with single set triggers, white metal fore-end caps and barrel key escutcheons and brass mounted ramrods, in a period walnut case refitted and relined in green baize for these pistols together with a number of period but unassociated accessories
