A .700 PERCUSSION SERVICE MUSKET WITH CYRILLIC SIGNATURE, serial number 8881-6,
dated for 1842 and adapted from the earlier 1828 pattern, with 41 1/2in, sighted round barrel, plain military pattern lock signed in cyrillic possibly for the Tula arsenal and the date '1834', walnut full-stock with raised cheek-piece on the left hand side, brass furniture, the heel plate deeply stamped with a Russian Imperial Eagle and the number '8881' over '6', finger-grooved trigger guard tang, sling-swivel forward of bow, serpentine side plate, two brass barrel bands, one with swivel and a brass fore-end nose-cap, all pieces dated 1834, provision for ramrod (missing), steel surfaces with light frosting, some gentle cleaning to woodwork.
