for 1991, 22 3/4in. Krupp-steel nitro barrels, raised matt rib gold-inlaid '...R. WILKE, NAUEN...', adjustable open sights and ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end engraved and gold-inlaid with trailing vine motifs, Carl Friedrich Stendebach patent action, patent no. 25885 of 12th December 1905 (US Patent No. 895057 of May 1907), broad stepped action with dovetailed grooved breech, the barrels with lateral ribs, high joint pins (one swivel repaired, stiff to open and close), domed automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'S' detail, gold-washed pin cocking-indicators, two piece pivoting breech face with removable striker discs, gold-washed triggers, the front a set trigger, the action deeply carved in high relief with flowing grape and vine motifs, surrounding and invading finely carved and gold-highlighted woodland game scenes, depictions of wild boar and boar hound on the right, a family group of fallow deer on the left, the underside with a portrait of a mouflon, the whole carved onto a finely matted background, signed 'HEYM', 15in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with sculpted cheekpiece, fine lipped buffalo horn pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels, the hand finely carved with further grape and vine motifs and multifarious chequering, the broad fore-end decorated en suite and with engraved and gold-highlighted Deeley & Edge patent release catch, protuberant belemnoid horn finial, the butt with engraved steel heel and toe plates with blued and gilded sprung ammunition trap, weight 9lb. 12oz.
