for 1902, 28in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (London proof for 1990), ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 33. BRUTON STREET. LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, No.2 action bridge fractured, best 'Royal' scroll engraving, the undersides with 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' within an elaborate cartouche, brushed finish, some pins reblued, 15in. figured replacement stocks including 3/4in extensions (No.1 with slight setting cracks, No.2 escutcheon removed), weight 7lb. 1oz. (both), in a maroon leather double motorcase
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that gun No. 23004 was completed in August 1902 to pair with gun No. 23360. Gun No. 23004 was completed in August 1902 for 'Pinckney', and it is noted that new chopperlump barrels were fitted in February 1991
