for 1993, 24in. nitro chopperlump barrels, stippled matt sight rib with banner gold-inlaid in gothic script 'J. Purdey & Sons. London England.', the sunken rib gold-inlaid in gothic script '.577 Nitro', open sights with two folding leaf sights, gold-inlaid sight lines and engraved '25', '50' and '75', stippled matt fore-sight ramp with bead fore-sight, flip-up moonsight and split folding sight shroud, bolstered treble-grip action with side-clips, removable striker discs, elongated top strap with manual bolted safety with gold-inlaid 'BOLTED' and 'SAFE' details gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguard, gold-washed triggers, the fences and side bolsters finely carved in high relief with scrolled and flowing foliate designs, the action, lockplates and furniture with bold scrolling acanthus, all on a matted background, the lockplates finely engraved with a herd of African elephant in a savannah setting to the left and two Cape buffalo to the right, the underside with two scrolling banners gold-inlaid 'J. Purdey & Sons. London England' surmounting a central round vignette of a lion's head, the triggerplate signed 'S. KELLY', 14 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap), sling swivels and including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, beavertail fore-end engraved en suite, weight 13lb. 5oz.
