26 1/8in. black powder only barrels with broad raised matt rib, open sights and folding leaf sight marked for 50 and 100 yards, bead fore-sight with flip-up moonsight, the tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON. WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS. LONDON. 1883', chambered for a 3 1/2in. brass case, 8-groove rifling with 14-bore internal diameter, giant treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, Jones patent rotary-underlever, elongated top-strap, rebounding back-action locks with dolphin hammers, fine floral bouquet and acanthus scroll engraving, the left side of the action bar engraved 'CHARGES 9 DRAMS. BRASS CASE 3 1/2 INS.', retaining some original colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved and colour-hardened steel pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes and including 1in. rubber recoil pad (perished), fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 13lb. 11oz., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case, (interior missing blocking), the lid exterior marked 'PRINCE L. ESTERHAZY', the lower right corner with 'HOLLAND BONE CRUSHER'

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in 1888 as a 16-bore double rifle for 'Esterharzy'.

Other Notes: The rifle comes with an additional pair of 10-bore (3 1/4in.) nitro shot barrels by Aug. Lebeau (Fabt. a Liege). The barrels are 30 3/4in. (78cm) with a tapered raised matt rib, 3 1/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, with individual 10in. fore-end with Anson push rod release.

A UK Section 2 shotgun certificate or RFD will be required for these barrels to be released
