circa 1865, with 6 3/8in. octagonal barrel engraved with a band at the muzzle and scrolls at the throat, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, long sighting groove to the top-strap and initial part of the barrel, partial replacement compound linkage rammer-ejector rod combined mounted to the right hand side, plain cylinder with rope-carved border to the leading edge and raised stops, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', one-piece chequered walnut grip with engraved domed iron heel-plate and guarded trigger, slight traces of finish in sheltered areas
