A CASED 12-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with slightly shortened 29 1/2in. damascus barrels (rib lifting), platinum plugs, fully scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'BURNAND' (some corrosion), engraved dolphin headed hammers, chequered walnut half-stock (loss to wood inside fore-end above left lock-spring), iron furniture including spurred trigger-guard tang, possible associated ramrod (tip missing), complete with a period walnut storage case trade labelled for the same maker and probably associated, the interior re-lined in blue baize together with partial compartments
