27in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 33. BRUTON STREET. LONDON.' and the rib engraved 'THE "CAVALIER"', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, rolled-edge triggerguard, best border and "Royal" scroll engraving, the decorative sideplates engraved en suite, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, the triggerguard tang gold-inlaid with the serial number, 13 7/8in. figured stock cast for a left hander, weight 5lb. 12oz., in its makers maroon leather guncase
Provenance: The vendor has kindly informed us that the gun was made for him after he wished to change from a 12-bore, finding them too heavy. Being good friends with Roger Mitchell, David Winks and Jeff Brooke at Holland & Holland, it was suggested that he try a 20-bore Cavalier, and the addition of the sideplates most likely makes this gun the only one ever made
