circa 1795 with later conversion from flint, plain round iron turn-off 1 5/8in. barrels, false rifling at muzzles, borderline and acanthus scroll engraved central hammer action signed 'SMITH' and 'LONDON' on the lower breech, rotating tap for barrel selection, Birmingham proofs, slab-sided walnut butts and guarded triggers, in a later re-lined and re-fitted case with reproduction trade-label inside lid and including a number of period but probably unassociated accessories
