A .650 FLINTLOCK SERVICE-PISTOL, MODEL 'CONTRACT SEA-SERVICE', no visible serial number,
circa 1805, with 12 1/2in. round iron barrel of larger than usual bore, private Tower proofs and moulded band at breech, solid squared top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock of military type signed 'TOWER' at the pointed tail and marked with a crown and 'G.R.' device below pan, swan-neck cock, walnut full-stock with carved apron, heavy brass furniture, provision for belt-hook (missing) and replacement horn-tipped ramrod
Other Notes: The differences in bore and the use of a swan-necked cock indicate this pistol to be one of the many contracted pieces supplied by the Tower to establishments such as the East India Company
